A new Texas Department of Public Safety Driver License Office is finally coming to Katy.
Construction on the 22,960-square-foot facility 23626 Kingsland Boulevard in Katy began on September 1 and is underway, with the office scheduled to open in spring 2027. The site includes a dedicated vehicle testing area and it will offer standard driver license and ID services, plus commercial driver license (CDL) skills testing. The new facility will feature 270 parking spaces.
DPS will release the final list of services, hours, and appointment details closer to opening.
Currently, many renewals, replacements, and address changes can be done online at dps.texas.gov, with no trip required.
