Board members and staff from the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show mingled with top executives and physicians from Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus at 18200 Katy Freeway in Houston, before delivering a very special gift on October 7 – a check for $283,076.
Ketrese White, President of Texas Children’s West Campus and Woodlands Campus, said that the donation would help fund a breathing lab, assisting in work being done by TCH cardiologist Dr. David Brennan, among other projects.
The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is the oldest non-profit partner of Texas Children’s Hospital, making the first donation in 1947 to begin the planning and building of the hospital. Since then, Pin Oak has gifted more than $7.8 Million to Texas Children’s Hospital.
Known for its rich history, time-honored traditions, equestrian excellence and extraordinary giving, the show is one of the oldest and most prestigious horse shows in the country, Pin Oak is also one of Houston’s unique social and fundraising events. The volunteer-driven organization has maintained its commitment to showcasing world-class equestrian talent while raising millions of dollars for Texas Children’s Hospital since its founding in 1945 by JS Abercrombie, who had the vision to create a world-class horse show to benefit the community.
The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is preparing for its 81st year with the four-week show set for March 24 to April 18, 2027, at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center, 2501 S. Mason in Katy. For more information, go to ttps://www.pinoak.org.
