Tompkins had a great day at the Class 6A Region III meet in Huntsville on Monday, as both the boys and girls teams qualified for the state meet.
Both the Tompkins boys and girls finished third overall at the state meet to clinch state berths. The boys were led by Parker Wood, who finished 17th overall with a time of 16 minutes, 23.86 seconds, while Mathias Pitzel finished 21st with a time of 16 minutes, 32.76 seconds, Austin Garcia finished 22nd with a time of 16 minutes, 33.07 seconds, Aiden Ramshaw finished 30th with a time of 16 minutes, 47.09 seconds, Juan Perez-Salas finished 35th with a time of 16 minutes, 57.07 seconds, Aaron Ramshaw finished 36th with a time of 16 minutes, 57.10 seconds and Diego Reyes finished 54th with a time of 17 minutes, 24.21 seconds.
For the Tompkins girls, Rowan Saacke was the leading finisher, as she finished fourth overall with a time of 18 minutes, 35.02 seconds, while Courtney Richman finished 13th with a time of 19 minutes, 51.48 seconds, Mary Alice Sheley finished 23rd with a time of 20 minutes, 11.02 seconds, Meghan Carlson finished 39th with a time of 20 minutes, 53.06 seconds, Jordan Musselman finished with a time of 21 minutes, 13.72 seconds, Madeline Bartlett finished with a time of 21 minutes, 25.50 seconds and Sophia Ramshaw finished 102nd with a time of 22 minutes, 51.83 seconds.
Tompkins wasn’t alone in qualifying for the state meet as a team, as the Cinco Ranch boys finished fourth as a team to qualify as well. Adrian Hahn Vadstein finished second individually to lead the team and medal with a time of 15 minutes, 51.83 seconds, Adam Elbanna finished 20th with a time of 16 minutes, 28.94 seconds, Alex Hahn Vadstein finished 27th with a time of 16 minutes, 42.97 seconds, Ryan Dy Plessis finished 42nd with a time of 17 minutes, 9.68 seconds, Clarence Walker finished 55th with a time of 17 minutes, 26.11 seconds, Kilian Drouaud finished 60th overall with a time of 17 minutes, 31.55 seconds and Henry Ebben finished 85th with a time of 17 minutes, 59.59 seconds.
Individual qualifiers for the girls state meet were Mayde Creek’s Rachel Solano, who finished 21st overall with a time of 20 minutes, 7.62 seconds, Claudia Klander, who finished 24th overall with a time of 20 minutes, 11.02 seconds and Jaime Klander, who finished 24th overall with a time of 30 minutes, 11.49 seconds
On the boys side, two Seven Lakes runners individually qualified for the state meet in Reese Sullivan, who finished eighth overall with a time of 16 minutes, 5.51 seconds and Matthew Montgomery, who finished 10th overall with a time of 16 minutes, 11.80 seconds.
The state meet is set for Nov. 4, with the 6A girls running at 10 a.m. and the 6A boys running at 10:40 a.m. at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.
