Teresa Gail Karpuk, mother, wife, friend, loyal and devoted partner of the many who loved her, passed away in her home on October 3, 2022 in Katy, Texas. She lived 64 years on this earth and will continue to live in the hearts of her two daughters and beloved husband. In life, Teresa loved the sound of moving water, whether ocean waves or a fountain’s trickle. Sitting by the side of her outdoor pool, Teresa could transport herself to the beach, her favorite place. She inspired everyone around her to see beauty in simplicity.

Teresa will be missed by all who knew her; her heart was bigger than all the oceans she loved. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Andrew A. Karpuk Jr.; her daughters Brittany Karpuk and Lexi Karpuk; her brothers Clifford Strong, Keith Strong, and Richard Strong; her sisters-in-law Charlene, Melissa, and LaDonna; her brother-in-law Alan Beir; and many other loving family members and friends. Teresa was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth Dean Strong and Mary Evelyn Langley Strong, as well as her sister, Lesa Beir.

Teresa was born in Norman, Oklahoma on January 10, 1958, where she grew up. She attended The University of Oklahoma, and worked for The Limited. She opened new stores around the country and managed the two largest stores in the Southwest, which brought her to Houston to meet the love of her life, Andrew A. Karpuk, Jr., on St. Patrick’s Day in 1985. On December 22, 1990, they were married in Burlington, Vermont. She lived most of her adult life in the Houston and Katy areas where she was actively involved in the Katy ISD. She celebrated the everyday joys of live music and good cooking, and was most fulfilled by caring for her family, and defined by her loyalty. Her greatest legacy is the strength and compassion of her daughters.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, in Katy, with Rev. Vincent Chacko, Celebrant. Interment in Forest Park Southwest Cemetery, in Richmond, Texas.
