The 2024 Katy FFA Rodeo Parade will take place on Saturday, February 17th at 9:30 a.m. The parade theme for 2024 is “Tried & True….Red, White, & Blue.” Don and Ida Fay Elder will serve as Parade Grand Marshals; Don Elder is a former mayor of the City of Katy.
There is no charge to participate in the parade but pre-registration is required. Registration is open until Wednesday, February 14th. Participation Requirement: All parade entries will be required to pre-register. Parade Day Registration WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED – NO EXCEPTIONS.
Parade Route: Parade will depart the West gate of Rhodes Stadium onto Katyland Drive, proceeding south on Katyland Drive to Old Katy Road/Hwy 90, then west on Old Katy Road/Hwy 90 to FM 1463, turning south on FM 1463 to end at Katy High School. The parade route is approximately two miles long, and the Judges Stand is about the halfway point.
Judging: Parade Judging Categories are: Adult General Cars, Toys and Tractors Churches/Church Organizations Civic Organizations Commercial Cowboys/Cowgirls Performing/Marching Groups School Organizations Scouting Organizations Performing for Judges: Any group that wishes to perform for the judges MUST be ready to start their performance when they reach the judges stand. Each group will have 30 SECONDS to perform. After 30 seconds, participants will be asked to move on so the parade can run smoothly.
Awards: First and second place will be awarded in each judging category with a plaque. Winners will be available after 3:00 p.m. on parade day by either e-mailing KatyRodeoParade@gmail.com, or viewing the list posted on the Katy Rodeo Facebook page.
