In a unanimous decision on Saturday, January 25, the board of directors of Katy Christian Ministries voted to make Virginia Gonzalez the permanent executive director of the organization, a source close to the nonprofit’s board told the Katy Times.
Katy ISD has named 34-year law enforcement veteran David Rider as incoming Chief of Police, the district said in a January 30 press release. The new chief will assume Katy ISD’s top law enforcement post on Monday, February 17.
In a poignant ceremony on February 3, hundreds of Katy ISD leaders, teachers, staff, students and community members gathered to dedicate Nelson Junior High School (NJH) and pay homage to the Nelson family for their service to the community and dedication spanning nearly a century. The campus, located at 25747 Longenbaugh Road in Katy, is built on land once owned by the Nelson family.
