Katy graduate Seth Small signed to the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats late last month.
Small had initially attended mini-camp with the Indianapolis Colts, but after not getting signed for OTA’s and training camp, the kicker took other options and ended up with the Tiger Cats.
A 22-year-old, Small played 46 games for Texas A&M and converted 78% of his field goal attempts while becoming the Aggies all-time leader in points scored and career field goals.
Small will compete with Michael Domagala and Tadhg Leader for the starting spot on the Tiger-Cats this upcoming season.
Anderson signs with Giants
Katy graduate Ryder Anderson also garnered a deal, but his was from an NFL team, as he parlayed a successful rookie minicamp invite into a three-year deal worth $2.56 million, as he attempts to earn his place on the upcoming seasons roster.
Anderson played at Ole Miss for four seasons before transferring to Indiana for his final year of college eligibility. He garnered 2.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss and 47 tackles last season while earning All-Big Ten honors. Anderson, who is 6-foot-6 and 276 pounds, has made an impression on the team and he could end up being part of the teams practice squad or final roster when things are said and done.
