Horace “Edsel” Morrow, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Katy, Texas on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, after a courageous 19-month battle fighting a Glioblastoma brain tumor. During his final days, he was constantly surrounded and lovingly cared for by his family and close friends. Edsel was born on July 20, 1950, in London, England and became a proud United States citizen on December 15, 2008.
Edsel was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He really enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and especially grandchildren. His favorite hobby was playing golf with his friends and every weekend no matter if it was freezing or hot, hot weather, you could find him on the golf course. He managed and operated RV Boat & Mini Storage and Trailer World of Katy for decades until his retirement in 2019. His highlights were helping customers, meeting new people and making new friends. Edsel loved working on cars and spent most of his earlier years repainting and rebuilding all types of cars, particularly muscle and sport carts. He was proud of his finished product and his customers were always amazed at his skills and workmanship.
Edsel had the kindest heart and always took the time to help anyone that needed comfort or aid. He treated everyone with compassion and fairness without judgement. His memories of goodwill and joy for the people who met him or needed him, will continue to remind us all how wonderful a person can be. He will truly be missed.
He was survived by his loving spouse of 27 years, Beatrice (Bea); sister, Carolyn Moseley & Arch of Weatherford, TX; sister Vina Silasi of Lubbock, TX; brother, Clint Morrow of Florida; his children, Brad Morrow and his wife Bridgette of Spring, TX, Buffy Busch and her husband Adam of Arkansas, Charity Behrens and her husband Tim of New Mexico, and Bryce Morrow and his wife LeAnne of Prosper, TX; step-children, John Gowen Jr. and his wife April of League City, TX, Mark Gowen of Katy, Matthew Gowen and his wife Rachael of Katy, and Diane Morrison and her husband George of Katy; 18 grandchildren, Samantha, Rebekah, Asa, Isaac, Ben, Mia, Jonah, Ashcroft, Katelynn, Christopher, Ashley, Josh, Cristian, Tony, Taylor, Russell, Jake, and Max. He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Morrow; mother, Irillia Morris; brother, Winston Morrow; and brother-in-law, Ron Silasi.
The family would like to thank Christian Companions for the wonderful care given to Edsel, especially Rod, Sammy, Madison, and Kim.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center; Foundation for Metabolic Therapies; or a charity of your choice.
