Katy ISD released its full football schedule for 2024, including for all nine high school varsity programs in what will be another exciting year in District 19-6A.
There are matchups that will excite fans from the first week to the last week of the season, both in the first two weeks of the non-district schedule and with rivalries within Katy ISD in the district schedule.
Coming off a district title and area round appearance, Katy will start its season against two playoff teams, traveling to take on Dekaney in week one before taking on Atascocita at Legacy Stadium in week two in what will be a very fun matchup. It’s the third year in a row Katy will play Atascocita, the first go round Katy won 35-28 and last year Atascocita came out on top in another one score game with Katy falling 42-34. Big matchups in district for the Tigers include a week four matchup against Cinco Ranch and a week 10 matchup when Katy plays Tompkins as the Tigers look to repeat at district champs.
Tompkins will also start against two playoff teams from last year, with the Falcons non district schedule starting with Cy-Ranch and Bridgeland. Other big games for Tompkins include a district opener against Jordan, and late season matchups against Cinco Ranch and Katy that could help decide playoff positioning.
Taylor will open against Cy-Woods for the third straight season before playing Fort Bend Bush. The Mustangs, who finished third in district last year, will face important district matchups early, starting off district against Mayde Creek and Morton Ranch before playing Cinco Ranch and Seven Lakes next.
Jordan, the fourth-place finisher last year will go up against Cy-Creek and Fort Bend Travis in non-district and go up against Tompkins in its district opener, also facing Mayde Creek and Morton Ranch early on.
Cinco Ranch will get the Woodlands and Tomball in its first two games, Morton Ranch will play Aldine Nimitz and Magnolia West to open the year, Mayde Creek opens against Fort Bend Travis and Fort Bend Austin, Paetow starts the season against Langham Creek and Seven Lakes will play Memorial and Foster in the first two weeks of the season.
