Aubrey J. Woods, Jr.
“Woody”
1939 - 2022
“Woody” passed away peacefully in his home on June 27, 2022 at the age of 82, where he put aside his battle with Parkinson’s Disease and heeded God’s call to come home.
He was born in Bunkie, Louisiana, later residing in Sulphur, Louisiana for 11 years prior to moving to Katy, Texas in 1987. He was a resident in Chandler, Texas at the time of his death.
Woody served in the Marine Corps after high school and upon completion of his military service, earned a Master’s Degree from McNeese State University. He perused a teaching career while iron working during the summer. Woody’s career in education brought him to Katy, Texas where he resided (and ultimately retired). His retirement was followed by more than 20 years of travel and adventure.
Woody was a member of Grace Fellowship Methodist Church in Katy, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, A. J. Woods Sr. and Eugenia (Woods)Bland; a son, Daron Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeri (Sadler) Woods; his son Aubrey J. Woods III(A.J.) and wife Jennifer; a beautiful granddaughter Meghan (Woods) LizSanchez and her spouse Osvaldo; older sister Merrie Guillot and younger brother Glynn Woods and wife Sharon.
A celebration of his life will be held on his birthday with details to be announced.
