City of Katy City Secretary Becky McGrew has been 2026 Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year, according to an October 12 Facebook post. McGrew is one of two nominees for the award, which will be announced at the TMCA awards banquet in The Woodlands on October 22.
McGrew has served on the Salt Grass Chapter Board for four years and contributed to numerous state and local initiatives, including the election ad hoc, audit, policy and procedures manual review, scholarship, Public Information Act Seminar, and banquet committees.
“I am truly honored and humbled to be nominated for the 2026 Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year Award,” McGrew said in her October 12 Facebook post. “There are so many incredible clerks across our state who are far more deserving than I could ever claim to be, and simply to be counted among them is a privilege I don’t take lightly.”
The Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year honor, awarded annually since 1963, recognizes a municipal clerk who exemplifies outstanding service to their community and to fellow clerks statewide. Nominees must be active TMCA members, hold a municipal clerk position, be Texas Registered Municipal Clerks, and meet service and leadership criteria.
