Children’s Lighthouse of Katy and Fulshear take gratitude beyond classroom with local food drive Early learning school sets 300-item goal to benefit local charities
Children’s Lighthouse of Cinco Ranch and Fulshear–Cross Creek West are inviting families, neighbors, and local businesses to come together to help stock the shelves at Katy Christian Ministries and Houston Food Bank.
From November 2–13, the schools will participate in the Felicia Shows Gratitude National Food Drive. The nationwide initiative brings together 45 Children’s Lighthouse locations across the country, allowing each community to make an impact close to home.
Children’s Lighthouse of Cinco Ranch and Fulshear–Cross Creek West have a set goal of collecting 300 non-perishable food items for Katy Christian Ministries and Houston Food Bank. Anything non-perishable is welcome and items can be loose— there will be boxes and places to place items there, but boxes and bags are welcome.
The schools are open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for donations. No need to call ahead. People are welcome to park and go in or to idle their car to run in and deliver items to the front desk.

The drive is inspired by Felicia the Fox, a Character Value Friend™ who teaches Children’s Lighthouse children about gratitude and giving thanks. As donations fill the school’s collection area, children will see those lessons come to life and discover how their own actions can help others.
