On October 19, CenterPoint Energy announced it will be hosting ten “Community Connect” events this fall in local neighborhoods across Greater Houston beginning on October 22.

The current schedule for the fall Community Connect events includes a stop in Katy on November 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Katy High School Main Cafeteria, 6331 Hwy. Blvd., Katy.

From October 22 through November 20, ten Community Connect events will be held across the Greater Houston area to provide customers with the opportunity to meet with CenterPoint Energy representatives in person. Through the program customers can learn how the Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative (GHRI) is improving reliability and resiliency, ask questions and share feedback about their service, and learn about vital resources and programs that can help save energy, stay informed, and prepare for the winter season.

During each Community Connect event, attendees can learn about programs and resources designed to help manage energy costs and prepare for cooler weather. Topics include:

· Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Eligible households may receive financial assistance to help cover winter heating costs.

· Flexible payment options: Payment arrangements, due date extensions and levelized billing can help customers better manage energy costs throughout the year.

· Energy-saving resources: Energy efficiency tips, rebates and tools are available that can help reduce energy use and lower bills.

Additional information about financial assistance programs, payment options and energy-saving resources is available by calling 800-332-7143 or visiting CenterPointEnergy.com/ResourceHub.

“Serving our community is a responsibility we value, and each of our Community Connect events will provide opportunities for our customers to meet with the CenterPoint people who are improving our systems and learn more about how we are building a more reliable and resilient grid or ask questions about their service and energy savings programs available for their family,” said Melinda Little, CenterPoint Vice President of Community Affairs. “We are excited to hold these great local events again and truly look forward to meeting with our customers in person.”

The fall “Community Connect” events follow 24 similar events held this summer and reflect CenterPoint’s ongoing commitment to the communities it serves, the company said in its announcement.
