The Brookshire-Katy Drainage District has announced a town hall meeting on October 1 at 4:30 p.m. at the BKDD office at 1105 Kenney Street in Brookshire.

The meeting will kick off the community conversation surrounding the proposed 2027 bond program, organizers said.

“This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the proposed projects, including critical drainage and infrastructure improvements designed to address current needs and prepare our growing community for the future,” the announcement said. “We encourage residents, community leaders, business owners, and other stakeholders to attend, learn more about the proposed program, and participate in the discussion.”

BKDD controls about 70 miles of channels and waterways in the greater Katy area, according to previous reporting by the Katy Times. For additional information, contact friendsofbkdd@gmail.com or visit https://www.bkdd.dst.tx.us.
