On Tuesday, February 24, Waller County and the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) will be hosting the rescheduled first public meeting relative to the County’s Safety Action Plan project, Waller County Judge Trey Duhon announced in a January 30 post on Facebook.

The meeting will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Waller County Precinct 4 Annex at 32225 US Highway 90 Business, Brookshire. The purpose of the project is to collect data and identify high-risk areas where safety measures can be implemented to reduce or eliminate traffic fatalities, Duhon said. The public’s input will help inform what actions can be taken to create safer roads for the citizens of Waller County. If you are unable to attend in-person, input can be provided online at https://engage.h-gac.com/safety-action-plans.

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is a regional organization that serves as a voluntary association of local governments. It was established in 1966 to address issues and challenges that are common to the local governments in the Houston-Galveston region, according to its website. The council operates as a forum for collaboration and coordination among its member governments. The primary goal of the Houston-Galveston Area Council is to promote regional cooperation and planning in areas such as transportation, air quality, economic development, workforce development, emergency preparedness, and environmental planning.
