VFW Post 9182 of Katy held its annual Independence Day luncheon on July 4 at VFW Hall, 6206 George Bush Drive in Katy, featuring a BBQ lunch and silent and live auctions. During the program, James F. McCain (left) of Katy presented a handcrafted American eagle sculpture, which he carved, painted and gilded, to Post Commander Ken Bullock (right). City of Katy officials, including Mayor Dusty Thiele and council members Paul Follis, Johnston Dietz and Michael Meihls, also presented an “America 250” commemorative plaque to the post.
