In late March, the VFW 9182 Auxiliary celebrated the 100th birthday of Mary Silva, who has been a member of the auxiliary for many years and has held various positions in the organization. She has lived in Katy for over 35 years and has six children and five grandchildren. “Mary is a joyful happy person who values her family,” said Jo-Anne Hays, the auxiliary’s youth chair. For her birthday Silva’s request for a tour of Heritage Park was granted by the group.
