The Sol Club Lagoon Amenity Village is now open in Sunterra, a Starwood Land community in Katy that is the top-selling master-planned community in Texas for three consecutive years, the company announced in a June 3 press release.
A 2.7-acre Crystal Lagoons® amenity is the heart of The Sol Club. It features white-sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters where Sunterra residents can swim, kayak, paddle board or relax in hammocks and lounge chairs.
While the lagoon is the signature feature of the $40 million Sol Club, the new amenity village also includes a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse with a reception area, meeting rooms, multiple gathering spaces and a large patio. Residents also enjoy eight covered pickleball courts, sports fields, an event lawn, boardwalk around the lagoon, horseshoe pits, Central Park and the Corner Park Playground all within The Sol Club amenity village.
“With the opening of The Sol Club, Sunterra now has an unparalleled amenity and lifestyle offering, and it’s all just for residents of Sunterra,” said John Brian, Chief Operating Officer of Starwood Land. “Today’s home shoppers are searching for a combination of resort-style amenities, top tier home builders and highly sought after schools within the community. Sunterra has all of those elements.”
Crystal Lagoons® technology uses minimal amounts of chemicals and energy to transform water into a crystalline beach paradise.
The Sol Club’s opening follows that of The Retreat Amenity Village, which debuted in 2024 with its lazy river, resort-style pool, splash park, clubhouse, yoga studio, fitness center, open-air arcade and large playground. Both the Sol Club and The Retreat amenity villages are designed for resident use and not open to the public.
Sunterra has 23 home builders selling homes from the high $200s to the $500s. There are also three sections within Sunterra that offer new homes for rent.
This year, two elementary schools are also slated to open in Sunterra. Katy ISD will open James and Mitzi Cross Elementary, north of Clay Road and east of Schlipf Road, while Royal ISD—which also serves Sunterra—will open Royal Prairie Elementary School off Bartlett Road.
