After 16 years of leasing, The Bible Seminary signed a contract on April 29 to purchase a new 19-acre campus located north of downtown Katy, the organization announced in a May 21 e-newsletter. According to the announcement, officials hope to open the new campus by spring 2027.

The independent, non-denominational, accredited institution of higher education is dedicated to training Christian believers in all 66 books of the Bible so they can serve the local church, according to the school’s website. The institution has traditionally leased space during its 16-year history – first at Grace Fellowship Church for two years and then at the Great Southwestern Equestrian Center for the past 14 years, while actively pursuing properties for a future campus.

The 19-acre property that officials hope to purchase by September is fenced, has four gated entrances and has 28,000 square feet of offices, gathering spaces, conference rooms, and a commercial kitchen. There is 25,000 square foot shed on the property, along with outdoor pavilions, paved walkways, a paved parking lot with room for additional parking and back-up generators. The land has three detention ponds plus a large detention basin and three undeveloped acres.

Key features of the property which are listed in the project information packet include:

· Multi-sensory interactive learning environment

· Tactile, retreat-style spaces and immersive exhibits

· Hub for disciple making and creative resource development

“To fund the debt-free purchase and development, three years of TBS operations, and start an endowment fund, we have launched a daring, faith-filled, and impossible-except-with-God three-year $18.25 million ‘Call to Adventure’ campaign,” TBS President Lynn Lewis announced in a video message included in the newsletter.

“We are praying for at least 1,000 donors,” Lewis said. “Since we first started quietly exploring this adventure in June 2025, 124 donors have led the way by giving and/or making pledges for up to three years. Total given or pledged approximates $2.4 million as of May 1, 2026. Of that, $760,000 has been designated toward facilities—about 10% of the immediate $7.5 million we need to purchase the property by this September and move by next spring.”

The school offers degree options including a Master of Divinity or a Master of Arts in four majors, as well as dual degree completion. Non-degree options include archaeological excavations, a certificate of theological studies and seminars and study tours. Learning options are offered on campus, online and on location in churches, schools, Israel and other countries. The school is accredited through its membership in the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).
