Texas Borders Bar & Grill, the family-owned restaurant known for its bold Cajun, All American, and south of the border flavors, announced on May 24 the opening of its newest location inside the award-winning Cane Island community. The new location will take over the space previously occupied by The Oaks Kitchen & Bar, with an official grand opening slated for July 2025.


Founded in Katy in 1996 by Kellie Messer, a New Orleans native with a deep-rooted love for flavor and hospitality, Texas Borders has grown into a household name across Texas. Now celebrating its 29th year, the brand continues to thrive under the leadership of Kellie and her husband, Kevin Wann, offering the same community spirit and bold food that started it all.


“We’re bringing more than a restaurant to Cane Island-were bringing a full experience, “said Messer. “This community is the perfect match for our family-forward, fun loving culture. We’re just not opening a restaurant -- we’re becoming a part of the community.”


Texas Borders Bar & Grill will offer the following at the new location:


· Poolside service – Pool menu with lots of options, kids’ meals, ice cream, snow cones, frozen drinks and more

· Kids events – Arts and crafts, face painting, and other kid friendly activities

· Wine/whisky tastings

· Live music – Acoustic and bands on the patio or inside

· Crawfish boils – In season

· Menu –Burgers, quesadillas, tacos, kids’ meals, pastas, award winning wings, po’boys, steaks, brunch, and much more

· Specials - Happy hours, daily specials, weekend specials

· Catering – On premise and off premise catering.
