The Tigers pounced on the Falcons early and never looked back, after two runners reached base in the top of the first, Montgomery Henderson singled to score both players. Lauryn Soeken then stepped to the plate and hit a two run home run to give Katy a 4-0 lead.

After another runner reached base to start the top of the second inning, Kailey Wyckoff hit a double off the wall and then came around to score herself on an errant throw by Tompkins. Harrison then hit an RBI single as Katy continued to increase its lead. Two runners reached to start and Wyckoff hit another double to bring both of them home Ashtyn Reichardt followed that up with a double of her own to bring in another run and Harrison put things beyond a doubt with an RBI single, with P Watson then driving in another run to make things 12-0 Katy after three innings.

Katy continued to pile it on in the fourth, as Reichardt drove in another run on a single before Hailey Gore gave Katy its 15th run on a homer in the fifth inning. Tompkins got two runs back in the bottom for the fifth on a homer from Meagan Brown, but that was all the damage that the Falcons could do on the day.

Samantha Crumrin took the loss on the day, allowing 12 earned runs over five innings while striking out one.

Seven Lakes bounces back with Abke no-hitter

Seven Lakes bats weren’t hot against Taylor, but that didn’t matter.

After two straight district losses, Amy Abke wasn’t interested in a third.

Things were scoreless until the fifth inning, when Meghan Kelly hit a single and was able to adance to third on an error. After another scoreless half inning, Seven Lakes was at it again in the bottom of the sixth, Emma Wingate hit a double and stole third to put herself in great position with one out before Kelly drove in the run with a sacrifice fly.

And that was all Abke would need to close things out, as she struck out two in the top of the seventh to end things.

Kaelyn Lerma took the loss for Taylor despite a strong outing, throwing six innings and allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out two and walking none.
