Katy ISD had six players named to the West team of the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association Bayou Bowl, which will be played on June 10 at Eagles Stadium in Mount Belvieu.

Paetow’s Jason Blue, Mayde Creek’s Donovan McKey, Cinco Ranch’s Braden Williams, Katy’s Blake Geiman, Morton Ranch’s Jamill Lindsey and Jordan’s Tosin Odulate were all named to the West team, as Katy ISD was very well represented on the rosters, with two more players making the team than last year.

The Bayou Bowl has been around for 20 years in Houston, and is used as an All-Star game to showcase local senior football talent around the Houston area. Proceeds from the event go to scholarships for male and female athletes in the greater Houston area.

Jason Blue was a big part of Paetow’s pass offense last season, catching 19 passes which was tops on the Panthers while gaining 161 yards in receiving and catching one touchdown. Blue has signed to play football at Trinity University.

McKey was one of the top performers on the Rams defense last season, leading Mayde Creek with 121 tackles while garnering eight tackles for loss and three sacks. McKey will be continuing his football and academic career at Southeastern Oklahoma State

Braden Williams became the Cinco Ranch all-time tackle leader during his senior season for the Cougars, while the linebacker totaled 116 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks during his senior year. Williams is signed to play football at McMurry University.

Geiman had a strong senior year, helping lead the Tigers to the state semifinal game and being named honorable mention on the Class 6A All-State team. Lindsey had 39 tackles and two tackles for loss last year before singing to play at Stephen F. Austin University. Odulate had 68 tackles to go with 21 tackles for loss and seven sacks to lead the Warriors to a strong opening varsity season.
