Keys, Jackson-Bray named Track and Field Super Elite Team MVPs

Two Katy ISD student athletes were named MVPs of the Class 6A Track and Field Super Elite Teams, with Tompkins Jayden Keys being named the boys MVP and London Jackson-Bray being named the MVP of the girls team.

Keys, Jackson-Bray named Track and Field Super Elite Team MVPs

Two Katy ISD student athletes were named MVPs of the Class 6A Track and Field Super Elite Teams, with Tompkins Jayden Keys being named the boys MVP and London Jackson-Bray being named the MVP of the girls team.

Keys, a Tompkins graduate capped off his high school career at the state meet in May, wining the Athlete of the Meet Award by taking gold in the long jump and 300-meter hurdles, while coming in second in the 110-meter hurdles. Katy’s Jackson-Bray finished second in the 100-meter dash, also coming in fifth in the 200-meter dash at the girls state meet to help earn the girls MVP.

On the boys side, Katy’s Adam Carter, Mayde Creek’s Elijah Ferguson, Jordan’s James Ledbetter and Tompkins’ Jhase McMillan were named to the boys super elite team.

Carter earned a silver medal at the state meet, while Ferguson came in third in the 400-meter dash, Ledbetter came in second in the 300-meter hurdles and Jhase McMillan medaled with a third place finish in the 200-meter dash.

For the girls, Katy’s Elizabeth Brooks was the only other Katy ISD student-athlete named to the team with Jackson-Bray. Brooks came in fourth place in the 800-meter run at the state meet.

The Teas High School Coaches Association Super Elite Teams consist of high school players nominated by current members of the THSCA and the players must meet the award criteria to be nominated. The award recognizes student athletes across the state for their exemplary athletic achievement in their respective sport.
