Seven Lakes fell in three games to Ridge Point in the bi-district round of the playoffs, as the Spartans won game one but were unable to find enough offense to win games two or three.

Seven Lakes falls to Ridge Point in bi-district

Seven Lakes fell in three games to Ridge Point in the bi-district round of the playoffs, as the Spartans won game one but were unable to find enough offense to win games two or three.

The Spartans won game one 5-0 off a dominant performance from Lawson Moreno on the mound, as the junior pitched seven innings of shutout ball, only allowing two hits while striking out four and walking two.

Seven Lakes took the lead in the first inning when Jake Steffes hit an RBI triple and Carlos Michinaux followed that up with a sacrifice grounder to make it 2-0 Spartans.

Seven Lakes got a third in the fifth inning on a wild pitch before scoring two in the sixth on a Jack Coultas RBI single and a Taylor Tiedt RBI single as Seven Lakes took the win.

In game two, Seven Lakes was not able to find enough offense or pitching as the Spartans lost 6-2.

Nathan Johnson started the game on the mound and went 2.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out one in the matchup.

The Spartans took the lead in the third inning, as Carter Sanchez scored on a wild pitch, but Ridge Point scored two in the third to take the lead. Ridge Point scored another two in the fourth and one in the fifth before Seven Lakes responded with a Cade Climie RBI single to trim the Ridge Point led to three, before Seven Lakes scored once more in the sixth to close things out.

Austin Furley threw a great game three for the Spartans but it wasn’t enough as Seven Lakes fell 1-0.

Furley allowed one earned run over six innings on six hits while striking out one and walking one.

Ridge Point scored one run in the first inning on an RBI double and it was all the team would need, as Seven Lakes mustered just three hits in the game and was unable to get anything going at the plate.
