Katy ISD dominated this years Class 6A Texas High School Coaches Association Team Tennis Super Elite Team, coming away with more than half the spots on the team for the Class 6A ranks after a terrific year for the school district in team tennis.

District 19-6A took seven spots overall. Seven Lakes led the way with five selections to the team after the Spartans made it all the way to the state final. For the Spartans, Matei Calin, Sorathan Leekumjorn, Allan Xu, Aidan Xu and Ning Yu.

Seven Lakes had a great year, going 18-3-1 on the season and reaching greater heights than the program ever had, making the final when their best ever finish before was in the state semifinals in 2016. Seven Lakes also made the state tournament after handing Memorial its first loss in Region III since 2008 when the Spartans beat them 10-9 in a tiebreaker in the Class 6A-Region III Final.

Tompkins took the remaining two spots from the district, as Remi Demblans Dechans and Ananya Sriniketh both were named to the team. The Falcons reached the third round of the playoffs before falling to Memorial in a hard-fought match.

The Teas High School Coaches Association Super Elite Teams consist of high school players nominated by current members of the THSCA and the players must meet the award criteria to be nominated. The award recognizes student athletes across the state for their exemplary athletic achievement in their respective sport.
