Rotary Club of Katy pitches ‘Pies for Polio’
Rotary District 5890 District Governor Tom Kelchner receives a cream pie in the face from local Rotarian Jordan Rzad at the service club’s “Pies for Polio” event held poolside on Oct. 16 at The Club at Falcon Point, 24503 Falcon Point Drive in Katy. The project, organized by Rotarian Karen Kurt, sold 51 cream pies suitable for tossing, as well as nine homemade pies for members to take home. The effort raised $5425.00 for the Rotary Club’s decades-long battle to eradicate polio.
