Ochoa Energy Storage is proud to recognize Operation Turkey, the Katy Foundation, LLC, Katy First United Methodist Church, and KTX Blue Towel Mission as the grant recipients for the fourth quarter of their Community Giving Program, the company said in a January 9 press release.
Operation Turkey is a volunteer organization of over 40,000 volunteers nationwide who work together to ensure those in need receive a warm meal on Thanksgiving Day. The organization received a $1,000 sponsorship to provide meals to those in need in the Katy area.
“Community partnerships like this help ensure no one in Katy is forgotten during the holidays,” said Melanie Dubendorff, head of Operation Turkey in Katy. “Because of this funding, our team was able to provide warm, nutritious meals on Thanksgiving to individuals and families who might otherwise go without.”
The Katy Foundation is a nonprofit branch of the Katy Chamber that is dedicated to supporting the Katy community during natural disasters. The organization has received $2,000 in grant funds that will go towards their community response work in times of need through disaster relief, community resilience projects, and direct support for individuals, families, and small businesses.
“We are honored to receive this donation, which will help us to support the broader Katy community in times of need,” said Matthew Ferraro, President and CEO of the Katy Area Chamber. This support will enable us to respond more effectively to disasters, advance initiatives that improve daily life, and create positive change for residents.”
Katy First United Methodist Church is committed to addressing the needs of families, neighborhoods, and schools in the community. They received $1,500 to support local schools and children’s programming across the community through funding for school outreach, a new children’s area within the church building, a pumpkin patch that local children and families attend, and support for Katy ISD's Life Skills and Special Education programs.
“We take seriously our faithful responsibility and privilege to care for our community and are grateful for the support of Ochoa Energy Storage to continue this mission,” said Becca Newcomb, Pastor for Family Ministries of Katy First United Methodist Church.
KTX Blue Towel Mission is a Texas-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting aging residents by providing free exterior home maintenance and safety services that help seniors remain safe in their homes. The organization has received $2500 in donations to directly fund its Support Aging Neighbors program, which will assist three elderly homeowners in the community with essential exterior maintenance and safety-focused services at no cost.
“We are honored to receive this donation, which allows us to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Kyle Martin, President & CEO of KTX Blue Towel Mission. “By
addressing exterior maintenance needs and reducing potential safety hazards, we can help prevent larger issues before they arise, improve day-to-day safety, and give aging neighbors the confidence to continue aging in place.”
