Ochoa Energy Storage has named Society Prosper as the grant recipient for the second quarter of their Community Giving Program, the company announced in an August 4 press release.
Ochoa Energy Storage is a proposed up to 500-megawatt Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project that will bring sustainable, reliable energy to support the Texas grid. This project will be located in Katy on less than 10 acres of privately-owned land, directly next to an electrical substation and a major electrical corridor serving the residents of the Katy area.
Society Prosper has received $1875.00 in grant funds that will be used to provide financial assistance to children who have suffered from abuse and neglect and who are seeking therapy and counseling services.
“These funds will be used to provide resources to children who survived abuse or neglect,” said Megan Langham, president at Society Prosper. “Every donation will make a difference in a child's life, helping to break the cycle of child abuse.”
The grants are awarded to non-profit organizations or groups whose work supports the people or institutions of the Katy area. Any awarded funds must be used exclusively in support of programs, efforts or events directly related to Katy. Looking ahead, Ochoa Energy Storage invites applications for its third-quarter 2025 Community Giving Program, a quarterly award given to non-profit and community organizations based in Katy or serving its people.
“We’re proud to support the work of Society Prosper in providing assistance to children in the Katy community,” said Alex Neely, Communications Manager at Ochoa Energy Storage. “We hope this donation helps more children access the care and support they need.”
The Ochoa Energy Storage Community Giving Program is open to organizations working to positively impact the Katy area. The next round of applications can be submitted by visiting our website at ochoaenergystorage.com/community-giving-application. The deadline is August 15, 2025.
