Meet the candidates for Fort Bend County Judge at July 30 lunch hosted by Fort Bend Regional Partnership

The Fort Bend Regional Partnership will host “Future of Fort Bend: Conversation with Candidates for Fort Bend County Judge” on July 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Safari Texas Ranch, 11615 FM 1464 in Richmond.

The event is scheduled to feature two candidates -- current interim Fort Bend County Judge Daniel Wong and current County Commissioner Dexter L. McCoy.

According to the Fort Bend County website, Wong is a 35-year resident of Fort Bend County who built his own engineering firm, growing it into an industry leader with 13 offices and over 400 employees. His company partners with some of the world’s largest corporations, including ExxonMobil, SpaceX, and other global giants, playing a key role in massive infrastructure projects across Texas and the southern United States. He is currently serving as the interim county judge for Fort Bend County.

McCoy, who has served as county commissioner for Fort Bend Precinct 4 since 2023, is a proud product of Fort Bend County’s Mission Bend community, according to the Fort Bend County website. The son of a teenage parents, he defied the odds and excelled in Fort Bend public schools, graduated from Boston University, and devoted his career to public service and preserving human dignity, starting as an appointee in the Obama Administration, continuing as a district leader in Fort Bend ISD.
