Founding member of the Texas Christian Chamber of Commerce Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale (second from left), owner of Gallery Furniture, was awarded the organization’s first-ever “Legacy Champion Award” in ceremonies at an August 20 luncheon at Katy Gardens, 1040 Schlipf Road in Katy. Presenting the award are (left to right) Chairman of the Board Paul Kurt, Chamber CEO Erica Scardino and Director of Resource Development Karen Kurt. The organization, which started in 2020 as the Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce, now has over 400 members and is expanding its operations to cover the “Texas Triangle” portion of the Lone Star State.
