Boy Scouts with Troop 1224 led by Scout Leader Jeff Wellman helped fellow scout Bryce Cassard collect pet supplies for pets in need.

The supply drive, which served as an Eagle Scout project for troop member Bryce Cassard, raised more than 240 pounds of dry dog food, almost 50 pounds of dry cat food, 104 cans of wet dog food, 194 cans of cat food, 80 pounds of towels and blankets, 31 pounds of newspapers, nine bags of dog treats, three bags of cat treats, five bags of small animal food, a dozen collars, four leashes, grooming and sanitation supplies, food bowls, 19 pet toys, a ream of paper and a pet door.

The event was held Oct. 2 at Katy High School.

Scouts who assisted Cassard include John Wellman, Jude Wellman, Paul Castillo, Bryce Bilanoski, Ivan Sokol, Alex Sokol, Zayd Morales and Gerardo Duran.
