KKB designates Legacy Tree on Beckendorff-Sword farm
Keep Katy Beautiful designated another Legacy Tree on September 4 – choosing an almost 50-year-old water oak located on the farm owned by Perry Sword and Kay Beckendorff Sword off Katy Hockley Road in Katy. Perry Sword planted the tree on the property because there were none originally on the farm, which has been in Kay Beckendorff Sword's family for 103 years. The oak trees along the road came from Sword's family property in Grimes County, Texas.
