Recently, the Touchdown Club of Houston hosted its annual Sportsmanship Luncheon, where Cinco Ranch and Katy High Schools were nominated for the prestigious Sportsmanship Award, Katy ISD announced February 11 on its Facebook page. The district also extended a special congratulations to Katy High School's football program for being named runner-up. The Touchdown Club of Houston is an organization dedicated to the sharing of fellowship through football and is the Houston chapter of the National Football Foundation. Founded in 1947 with leadership from General Douglas MacArthur, legendary Army coach Earl "Red" Blaik and immortal journalist Grantland Rice, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame -- a non-profit educational organization -- runs programs designed to use the power of amateur football in developing scholarship, citizenship and athletic achievement in young people, according to the organization’s website.
