There is a new youth sports option in Katy -- and it’s not football, soccer or baseball.
It’s wrestling.
KT3 Style Youth Wrestling Club (KT3 Wrestling) was established in summer 2026 by Victor Veloquio, Mark Byrne, and Vinnie Lowe.
The club is open to students in grades K to eight and divisions determined by the athlete’s age.
“The objective of the club is to give local youth athletes a positive, competitive, and character-driven environment where they develop as wrestlers and as young people,” said spokesperson Randi Michaelsen. “Wrestling teaches discipline, resilience, accountability, confidence, and working hard even when things get difficult.”
“KT3 Youth Wrestling was created to give kids a place to grow in confidence, discipline, and resilience both on and off the mat,” said Head Coach Victor Veloquio. “We are building more than athletes; we are building strong kids and strong families within our community. I am beyond excited to step into this role as the Head Coach with KT3 Youth Wrestling. This is not just about building better wrestlers, it is about building confident, disciplined, mentally tough young athletes who carry that mindset into every part of their lives.”
KT3 Wrestling’s inaugural summer program drew more than 50 registrations, and the fall roster is nearly full with just a handful of spots left, Michaelsen said. The club has raised over $7,000 in sponsorships and is also actively recruiting volunteer coaches.
The fall competitive season officially begins October 1 and will go through February. Practices are typically two hours each.
The club holds practices at Katy High School, 123 FM 1463 in Katy, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
KT3 Wrestling kicked off its travel schedule with a tournament in Denver, Colorado at the end of September, and roughly 20 more tournaments will follow across the season, including several state qualifier tournaments. Many of the tournaments are in the Spring-Klein area, but athletes will also travel to Bryan, Austin, Dallas, and Amarillo, along with other areas. The season will be completed with the state tournament in Allen, Texas.
Parents can find the club on Instagram and Facebook at @kt3_youth_wrestling – where the inquiry form is linked in the Instagram bio or can email staff at kt3styleyouth@gmail.com. There is a $300 registration fee plus $65 for USA wrestling membership. Athletes will need head gear, singlets for tournaments, wrestling shoes, and a mouth guard for those with braces
KT3 is a Texas nonprofit operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, with every dollar going back to the athletes, Michaelsen said.
“We are going to compete. We are going to grow. We are going to show up with purpose every single day,” said Veloquio. “Two things I can promise: it won’t be easy, but if you stay, it will be worth it.”
