Katy Christian Ministries released a statement Friday afternoon affirming that it will continue operations during the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) outbreak in the Greater Houston area. All programs will continue to operate, the statement said, but some changes will be made out of caution in an effort keep volunteers, staff and clients safe.

Katy Christian Ministries Executive Director Deysi Crespo asked that the community continue to support the nonprofit by volunteering and shopping at the organization’s two resale shops which help to fund its mission. Volunteers can still sign up through Sign Up Genius for opportunities to help at the food pantry and donations are still needed. Specific donation needs include hand sanitizer, gloves, soaps, disinfectants, toilet paper, paper towels, bleach and non-perishable food items as well as meat according to the statement.
