Katy ISD student-athletes named TTCA All-State

Four Katy ISD schools placed student athletes on the Texas Tennis Coahes Association Academic All-State team for the 2021-2022 school year.

Seven Lakes, Tompkins, Mayde Creek and Cinco Ranch all placed athletes on the team, which awards graduating seniors that have a cumulative GPA of 92 or higher.

The TTCA is made up of high school tennis coaches from around the state of Texas and hands out awards each year, including All-Academic, scholarships, coach of the year and special recognitions.

Cinco led the district with 13 selections, Emma Donaldson, Camila Meza Ellerbrock, Ishaan Gupta, Christian Healy, Anshu Lakshman, Connor Oberg, Janette Phan, Anabelen Pons, Cydney Rice, Tejas Sachdeva, Aaryan Sagar, Kayla Wan and Jiawei Zhang.

Mayde Creek had 11 athletes named to the team, Carlos Ascenio, Ashley Chucks-Nwosu, Frida Fanini, Grace Lee, Dreylon Nguyen, Kimberly Paniagua, Timothy Park, Rohan Patel, Jordyn Rabon, William Tu and Cindy Ventura.

Seven Lakes placed nine student-athletes on the team, Anna Bouleau, Brian Ho, Fabiola Jaimes, Mehek Jain, Tanav Kalra, Liska Knight, Estee Nwana, Mihir Patil and Nicole Tapia.

Tompkins placed six on the team, Dhruv Amiani, Nathalia Ciliberto, Gavin Gibson, Natalie Kha, Charles Kuchler and Abhijay Setlur.

Team tennis is set to gear back up in August, with everyone in Katy ISD eyeing for a shot at a district championship.

Katy ISD, tennis, all state, academic, sports
