Katy Christian Ministries announces restructuring, will hold December food fairs

Like many other nonprofits, Katy Christian Ministries has faced financial challenges over the past few months due to various factors, the organization announced in a November 21 press release.

“As a result, we have seen a significant decline in both grant funding and individual/group contributions,” the release said. “To respond, we are actively restructuring to ensure greater efficiency, building a stronger digital presence to share our mission, and pursuing new grants and funding opportunities to secure sustainability and expand our impact. While this season has brought challenges, it has also opened doors for innovation and growth, and we are excited about what’s ahead for KCM.”

The organization also announced new leadership:

· Phil Reeves, Interim Executive Director, who has decades of leadership experience and a vision for sustainable growth.

· Amy Laugelli, Community Assistance Director, who will be focused on accountability, efficiency, and maximizing impact across our four service streams: social services, crisis center, food pantry, and resale stores.

During the government shutdown, KCM expanded its outreach by hosting three community food fairs in November with two more to come before Christmas – on December 6 and 20. The first two fairs alone provided 23,500 pounds of food and served 300+ households.
