Jordan High School senior Trinity Grubb is organizing the school’s inaugural “Creativity Fest” – which Grubb describes as “a time where people can explore various creative activities, connect our community and help those in need by donating items to charity.”

“This event is really important to me because I believe that more people should explore the arts and those in this event have talent that should be honored,” Grubb said in an email to the Katy Times.

The showcase will be held at the Jordan High School Performing Arts Center, 27500 Fulshear Bend Dr. in Fulshear on Saturday, November 16, from 3 to 9 p.m. Tickets are free, but organizers are requesting that attendees visit the event website at to filmheadproductions.my.canva.site/creativityfest and press “attending” so that they can get a preliminary audience estimate.

The festival will feature acts, games and vendor booths. Throughout the whole event, the creative talents of those in the community will be showcased through musical performances, improv, film, dance and more. During intermissions in the PAC, emcees will host various games, which are free to participate in but are limited in number of participants. Numerous booths with small craft projects, club set-ups, and small businesses selling artworks, jewelry, foods, and drinks will also be featured.

“One hope I have for Film Head Productions is to connect people through a love for film,” says a statement on the event website. “To make a film requires many moving and complicated parts, which involves a ton of people coming together. You have directors, actors, writers, editors, costume/props crew, etc... That's why it's so important to encourage these connections between people and the arts.”

This event will be accepting donations of items for various charities, with the following items requested:

· Houston Food Bank:

o Food must be nonperishable.

o Canned protein in various forms (such as beans, fish, chicken), preferably with pull tops.

o Household items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaners.

o Nothing homemade, expired, opened, or in glass.

· Houston Children's Charity: Toys for children, preferably stuffed animals. Avoid battery operated toys.

· Salvation Army:

o New or gently worn clothing that are free from stains, tears, and modest in appearance.

o Shoes that are not too worn or damaged.

o Socks must be new.
