Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!) invites animal lovers from across Greater Houston to join its celebration of pets at Barktoberfest 2026 presented by Pacifico, taking place Saturday, October 10, at Home Run Dugout, 22819 Mercantile Parkway in Katy, from 2 to 6 p.m.

This family-friendly fundraiser brings together pet lovers, local businesses, and the community for a day filled with pets, live entertainment, costume contests, shopping, food, drinks, and activities—all while supporting Houston Pets Alive!'s lifesaving mission. Entry is free, but every ticket purchased helps provide shelter, medical care, foster homes, and second chances for thousands of homeless dogs and cats throughout the Houston area. Reserve admission and purchase activity tickets at houstonpetsalive.org/barktoberfest.

Guests can look forward to:

● Dog-friendly activities and entertainment

● Four pet costume contests with prizes

● Local vendors and pet-focused shopping

● Pacifico beer

● Opportunities to learn how to adopt, foster, volunteer, and support local animal welfare

"Barktoberfest is more than just a fun day out with your dog. It's a chance for our community to come together and directly impact the lives of homeless shelter pets," said Shannon Parker, Executive Director. "Every person who attends helps us continue saving animals. Together, we can turn one day of celebration into countless second chances for shelter animals.”

Houston Pets Alive! is one of the region's largest lifesaving animal welfare organizations, rescuing pets from overcrowded shelters, providing medical care and foster placement, and working to keep pets with the families who love them whenever possible. The organization helps thousands of animals each year through its low-cost spay-neuter clinic, rescue and adoption programming, pet food pantry, and community support initiatives.
