Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones announced on August 12 that the precinct will host Stay After School with Precinct 4, a free after-school program that will provide a safe and supportive environment to kids. Starting August 12, the program will run Monday through Friday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the Glazier Senior Education Center, 16600 Pine Forest Lane, Houston, near Clay Road and S. Highway 6.

Each afternoon, students can look forward to STEAM projects, sports, and team-based activities designed to build skills, friendships, and confidence. The program is open to all, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. During the last year, Harris County Precinct 4 built 50 miles of sidewalks to connect children to schools, bus stops, and places of worship. The precinct also provided summer programming, including Kids Café summer meals and kids’ water safety programs at Mary Jo Peckham Aquatic Fitness Center, a free fishing day at John Paul Landing Environmental Education Center, summer jewelry making at the Radack Community Center, and more. In addition, the precinct hosted vaccination events, including one at Mary Jo Peckham Park and one at the Radack Community Center, and distributed school supplies to thousands of families heading back to school.
