The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) announced on January 8 that applications are now open for its 2026 scholarship awards, marking a meaningful milestone as the League celebrates 25 years of service to the Fort Bend County community. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2026 and applied toward tuition for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In celebration of this anniversary year, FBJSL invites female high school seniors and adult women who reside in Fort Bend County and aspire to pursue higher education to apply. The League will award up to six $1,000 Volunteer Scholarships and one $2,000 New Beginnings Scholarship, continuing a legacy of investing in women and empowering futures through education.

The Volunteer Scholarships recognize female high school seniors who demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteerism and community service. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 100 hours of community service, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, and plan to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university.

The New Beginnings Scholarship is designed to support adult women returning to school after a break in their education. This scholarship seeks to encourage personal growth and expanded career opportunities for women taking courageous steps toward new chapters in their lives. Eligible applicants must be Fort Bend County residents accepted into an accredited college, university, or vocational program and demonstrate financial need.

“For 25 years, empowering women has been central to our mission,” said Scholarship Coordinator Brandy Edwards. “As we celebrate this anniversary, we are honored to support women at every stage of their educational journey and to recognize the power of service, perseverance, and new beginnings.”

Application links and additional information are available at fbjsl.org/scholarship-programs. The application deadline is March 1, 2026.
