Fort Bend County has been awarded the Transparency Stars Award in the area of Economic Development by the Texas Comptroller’s Office, the county announced in an October 1 press release. “This recognition highlights the County’s outstanding efforts to make economic development data accessible, clear, and useful to the public,” the release said.
The award was presented by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and accepted by Alisha Stallworth, the county’s special projects manager in the budget office.
The Transparency Stars program recognizes local governments that go above and beyond
in financial transparency. Fort Bend County’s commitment to open data and public
accountability continues to set a high standard in Texas. The Economic Development Star
specifically reflects transparent reporting on incentives, tax abatements, economic
impact, and development agreements.
The award Includes:
• Placement on the Comptroller’s website as a Transparency Star recipient
• Digital seal for online display
• Official award certificate
• Continued recognition contingent on ongoing transparency and timely updates
"This award reflects our commitment to keeping Fort Bend County residents informed
about how public resources are used to foster economic growth,” said Fort Bend County Judge KP George. “Transparency is not just good policy, it's a public trust we are proud to uphold."
