Clothed by Faith, a Katy-based nonprofit which provides gently used clothing for those in need, announced on May 23 that the organization served its 150,000th client that day. The milestone occurred at the organization’s Deer Park branch.
“Both of our branches have been anxiously awaiting all day long to see who was going to serve the 150,000th client and it happened here at our Deer Park location,” said the post. “That number isn’t just a statistic. It’s a child walking into school with confidence… a parent rebuilding after crisis… a teen in foster care feeling seen and valued.”
The post said that, since 2013, the Katy and Deer Park communities have donated $45 million dollars’ worth of clothing that has been distributed to individuals and families in need across the Greater Houston Area. The organization serves children in foster care, families rebuilding after disasters, veterans starting over, parents escaping domestic violence, or others facing hardship. Each person receives a full week’s worth of clothing, including shoes, and new socks and underwear, carefully chosen by volunteers to help recipients feel seen, valued, and dignified.
