City of Katy Tourism and Events Coordinator Kaci Maris (left) is joined by Mayor Dusty Thiele in displaying the “Community Impact” award given to Maris on April 8. The community leadership honors, given by the Houston Business Journal this year for the first time, were bestowed on individuals “breaking boundaries and making significant impact” in the community. Maris’ award specifically recognizes “an individual from any organization whose initiatives have significantly improved lives through civic leadership, philanthropy, or purpose-driven engagement.”
