Travel Katy, the City of Katy’s official guide to visiting and exploring the city, has launched a refreshed website and brand-new look, featuring a bold new logo and modern design, according to a March 17 press release.

“The new site highlights many of the things that make Katy special — from family-friendly parks and local festivals to great dining and historic sites — while celebrating the small-town charm and strong community spirit that make our city unique,” the press release said. “Visitors and residents can start exploring now at www.travelkaty.com. Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting for the first time, the site offers new ways to discover all Katy has to offer.”

The city is also seeking feedback from residents to continue to improve the guide.

“As Travel Katy continues to grow, we know the best community guide is built with help from the community itself,” the press release said. “We encourage residents, businesses, and visitors to help us make this resource even better by sharing places, events, and experiences they notice are missing.” Send suggestions to travelkaty@cityofkaty.com for consideration.

“Katy is more than a city — it’s a community full of surprises, connections, and experiences waiting to be enjoyed,” said Laura Vickery, content creator for the City of Katy in the press release.

On March 16, the city’s travel and tourism board met and discussed moving forward with bids and contracts for events related to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), according to a Facebook post by board member J. R. Richardson.

“It’s a great way to support our local economy while showcasing our city to people all over the country,” Richardson said in the post. “Between the upcoming launch of TravelKaty.com, the investment in restoring the historic Katy Heritage Society Mess Hall, and preparing to host major sporting events, there is a lot of exciting momentum happening now.”
