Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) announced on June 17 that they have received a generous donation from West Houston Subaru as part of the Subaru Share the Love® Event. This meaningful gift was awarded to CAP during a special check presentation ceremony held at West Houston Subaru and will directly support CAP’s mission to shelter, care for, and find loving homes for thousands of animals each year.

Through the Subaru Love Promise, West Houston Subaru selected CAP as its Hometown Charity, giving car buyers the option to direct a $325 donation to CAP with every qualifying vehicle purchased or leased during the 2025 Share the Love Event. In addition, West Houston Subaru contributed an extra $25,000 to help support CAP initiatives. Thanks to the compassionate support of Subaru customers and the dealership’s continued commitment to animal welfare, the two checks totaled $86,763.

“We are incredibly grateful to West Houston Subaru and the Subaru Share the Love Event for supporting our lifesaving work,” said Sandi Mercado, Executive Director of CAP. “This generous donation helps provide food, shelter, medical care, and a second chance to the thousands of animals who come through our doors each year.”

West Houston Subaru has been a steadfast community partner by sponsoring adoption events, raffling a Subaru at CAP galas, walking dogs twice a month with their team of employee volunteers, helping raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption, and in so many more ways.

“At West Houston Subaru, we believe in being more than a car company, we’re a company with a commitment to our community,” said Gloria Meszaros, co-owner of West Houston Subaru. “Citizens for Animal Protection does extraordinary work for Houston’s homeless pets, and we’re honored to support them.”
