Cinco Ranch continued its hot run through the playoffs on Monday, beating Northbrook 2-0 in the regional quarterfinals and clinching a spot in the Region III-6A Tournament.
The Cougars scored one goal in both the first and second half to secure the win, Andres Riera and Ossian Elgstrom scored the goals for Cinco Ranch, with Flynn Suther and Miguel Leite providing the assists. Noah Machart earned a shutout for Cinco Ranch.
The Cougars won their fifth straight and are currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak as they head to the regional tournament for the first time since 2016.
