Christ Clinic, a charity health care clinic at 1040 Schlipf Road in Katy, has entered into in a joint venture to provide functional medicine in greater Houston in partnership with Innovative Wellness, according to an email from a clinic spokesperson. Funds received by Christ Clinic from the joint venture will be used toward funding the clinic’s nonprofit charity medical care for uninsured and underinsured patients. The 501(c)(3) charity medical clinic serves over 5,000 patients annually in the greater Houston community.
Innovative Wellness, based in Waukee, Iowa, uses an approach to functional medicine that goes beyond symptom management, focusing on the root causes of health concerns through personalized, science-driven care, according to its website. By considering factors like genetics, lifestyle, and environment, Innovative Wellness concentrates on lifelong wellness and creates individualized treatment plans that support optimal health and vitality.
The Houston office of law firm Kirkland & Ellis advised Christ Clinic in the transaction, with the Kirkland team including corporate lawyers Michael Cline, Christian Mahre and Peter Hillary; healthcare lawyers Dennis Williams, Micah Desaire and Jessica Stoltz; and tax lawyers Mark Dundon and Dylan White.
