Citizens for Animal Protection has partnered with Pets for Patriots to help veterans and shelter animals find each other, the animal rescue group announced in a May 23 post on Facebook.
“If you’re a veteran or a gold star family looking for a devoted companion, we’ve got a friend waiting just for you,” the post said.
Benefits of adopting your best friend now include a generous “welcome home” gift card; discounted veterinary care; savings on food, supplies and medication, the post said. The program also includes a year of post adoption follow-up.
