Local businessman Donald P. Cox has passed away, City of Katy Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris announced on Facebook on January 25.

Cox was chairman of the board and CEO of Cox Global Associates, founded in 1990, according to the company website. Before Cox Global Associates, Cox was a senior account executive with the registered investment advisory firm SIMCO.

Cox actively served his community by participating as an executive committee member for organizations like the Harris-Fort Bend County Municipal District 4, City of Katy Charter Review Committee, Election Judge for the City of Katy, Sam Houston State University Inter-fraternity Council, National Exchange Club, Escape Center, IRBBA (International Red Brangus Breeders Association), and the Central Texas Red Brangus Association.
